My name is Anna LaRue, and I was born and raised in Dade City, Florida. Growing up in a family of six, I quickly developed a love of being surrounded by people at a young age. With what seemed like constant visits from childhood friends, our home looked more like an extended-stay motel than a single-family dwelling.
This constant chaos of comings and goings became my “normal” and helped me to realize that working with people was something I was passionate about. Throughout my life, I also uncovered a true joy of writing. There was just something I loved about sitting down and creatively communicating my thoughts through written words. Whether it was for an academic essay or personal expression, I really enjoyed writing and felt as though it was something I excelled at.
When I began my freshman year at Auburn University in the fall of 2012, I had a rather hazy image of what I should be “when I grew up.” I was unsure if there could be a major that would blend my love of working with people and my love of writing into one. After completing 120 hours in the public relations curriculum, I can confidently say that I found what I was looking for.
I feel blessed to have found a major that encompasses both my passions and my strengths, and I look forward to the road ahead.
Outside of school, you can find me with a Diet Coke in hand updating my Pinterest boards, playing with my dog, Bo, or browsing the new boutiques in town to help me continuously update my wardrobe.
While reading through the pages of my website, I hope you will be able to get a glimpse into my life and who I am as an individual, as well as the hard work and devotion I have given to my major and the passion I have for this field.
